Goal Setting for Teacherpreneurs

looking joyfully at sparkling lights in the shape of 2021Do you consider yourself to be a teacherpreneur?  Have your been working toward building your TpT store for some time and you are ready to take it up to the next step?  Here are some goal setting ideas to keep in mind when planning out your 2021 goals.

  • How much time can you commit each day/ week/ month to build your store?
  • What would help your store grow the most?
  • How can you hold yourself accountable for spending the time you have to grow your store?
Time is one of our biggest constraints, for many TpT is a side hustle that gets done when you have completed the duties of your full-time job, running a household and caring for children. So that being said, it is amazing that we get anything done!

These three questions are crucial because if you can truly spend a certain amount of time each day or week building your store, it will continue to grow.   What is most important, is to spend the time actually growing your store.  This means making products, advertising, blogging about your resource, and promoting your brand on social media.  Time is not well spent scrolling through Instagram comparing yourself to other teacherpreneurs and wishing that your products and store looked more like theirs.

We need to hold ourselves accountable to spending our precious time, doing things that actually matter for the growth of our store. Goals both short and long-term help us stay focused on what is important and what till move our business forward.  Here are some ideas of goals that you can used to stay focused this year:

  • Take 30 minutes to research your store.
    1. What products are selling best? Can you make more like this?
    2. Are your banners and graphics current and visually appealing?
    3. Do you have any areas that need more products?
  • Advertising
    1. Do you use the note to followers on TpT?
    2. Do you use Instagram, FB group, or Pinterest to promote products?
    3. Do you regularly post on these sources?
  • Make a plan!
    • How much time will you spend each week on your store?
    • What will you do each week during this time?
    • Reevaluate each month, what needs to be done.
